Assessing bioefficacy of herbicides and their mixtures for weed management in Rabi maize (Zea maize L.)

چکیده
A field experiment was conducted on medium black calcareous soil at Junagadh (Gujarat) during Rabi season of 2019-20 to study the bioefficacy herbicides and their mixtures for weed management in maize (Zea mays L.). The laid out randomized block design with three replications. treatments comprised of: Atrazine 500 g/ha as PE fb 2,4-D (SS) PoE 30 DAS, halosulfuron-methyl 60 tembotrione 100 topramezone 25 tank-mix halosulfuron + 250 50 12.5 HW 15 Weed free check Unweeded check. results indicated that application atrazine DAS improved growth yield attributes, suppressed growth, ultimately recorded higher grain dry fodder yields along net returns.

Maize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملGlyphosate-resistant Volunteer Maize (zea Mays L.): Impact and Management
The United States is the largest producer of maize in the world. Maize-soybean is the most prominent crop rotation in the Midwestern United States. Glyphosate-resistant volunteer maize is a problem weed not only in soybean, but also in continuous maize or sugarbeet rotations. Storm damage, harvesting problems, poor stalk quality, and insect damage, among other factors, can lead to kernel and ea...
متن کاملWeed Composition in Maize (zea Mays L.) Fields under Smallholder Conservation Farming
Smallholder farmers in southern Africa have reported on increased labour requirements for hoe weeding due to high weed infestations in conservation farming (CF) fields. However, CF proponents claim that weed pressure and labour requirements for weeding decrease within the first three years under the recommended CF practices. An observational study was carried out during the 2008/09 cropping sea...
متن کاملEvaluation of broadleaf weeds control with some post-emergence herbicides in maize (Zea mays L.) in Iran
Registered dose of herbicides may be higher than rate required for controlling weed species depending on growth stages. In order to study the effect of individual post-emergence application of 2,4-D plus MCPA and three sulfonylurea herbicides at four- to six-true leaf stage of weeds, experiments were conducted in 2011 at the greenhouse of Agricultural Faculty of Ferdowsi University of Mashh...
